On October 11, a round table-discussion entitled “Problems of Assimilation and Challenges in the Modern Diaspora” was held in the conference hall of the NAS RA Institute of History.
The round table-discussion was organized by the initiative of the Department of the Diaspora and History of Armenian Colonies of the NAS RA Institute of History.
At the beginning of the discussion, the Director of the NAS RA Institute of History, NAS RA Academician, Dr. of Hist. Sci., Professor Ashot Melkonyan and Yuri Suvaryan – Academician-Secretary of the NAS RA Department of Armenology and Social Sciences made speeches.
The round table-discussion was conducted by Gevorg Stepanyan – the Head of the Department of the History of Diaspora and Armenian Colonies.
From the Department of History of Diaspora and Armenian Colonies Karen Mkrtchyan (“Assimilation as a Challenge of the Armenian Diaspora of the 21st Century”), Artsvi Bakhchinyan (“National Memory in the Assimilated Generations of Armenians”) and Knarik Avagyan (“Assimilation Process in the Diaspora within the Context of Generational Change”) presented reports.
