JUBILEE SESSION DEDICATED TO THE 75th ANNIVERSARY OF THE INSTITUTE OF HISTORY, NAS OF RA

Anniversary events dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Institute of History, NAS of RA took place on December 26-27, 2018.

On December 26, the 39th Scientific Session of the Young Researchers' Council kicked off on the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the Institute of History. Presentations were made by the staff of the Institute of History of NAS RA:  Hamo Sukiasyan, Gor Yeranyan, Mariam Grigoryan, Vahe Sargsyan, Harutyun Khudanyan, Liana Nazaryan, Gayane Ghazaryan, and Narine Harutyunyan.

On December 27, the jubilee session started at the conference hall of the Institute of History within the framework of which the presentation of the book "Institute of History - 75” and the screening of the "Institute of History - 60" took place.

The book "Institute of History - 75” contains scientific, scientific-organizational and scientific-educational activities of the Institute of History for the past 75 years. In the appendix of the book readers will find the list of the publications published by researchers of the Institute of History, NAS of RA since 1943 till 2018.

    

The opening speech of the event was made by Prof. Ashot Melkonyan, the Director of the Institute of History. Yuri Suvaryan, academician-secretary of the Department of Armenology and Social Sciences of the Armenian National Academy of Sciences, delivered a welcoming speech. Congratulations speeches were made by Dr. Aram Simonyan (Rector of YSU), Dr. Vahan Ter-Ghevondyan (Director of Matenadaran), Prof. Edik Minasyan (Dean of the Department of History, YSU) and many others.

    

The welcoming speech of Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, RA Acting Minister of Diaspora was read to the audience. The Institute of History of NAS RA was awarded with the Gold Medal of the RA Ministry of Diaspora, and Prof. Ashot Melkonyan was awarded with the Gold Medal of the RA Ministry of Diaspora. Prof. Karen Khachatryan, Prof. Albert Kharatyan, Dr. G. Stepanyan, Dr. Armen Marukyan, K. Avagyan, S. Ohanyan, A. Bakhchinyan, and E. Tairyrian were awarded with diplomas of the RA Ministry of Diaspora for contribution to the development of Armenia-Diaspora partnership.
