On 10 April of this year, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the NAS RA Institute of History and the Institute of Ancient History and Ancient Near Eastern Studies at the University of Innsbruck, Austria. The cooperation encompasses the organisation of joint conferences, the publication of scholarly works, the exchange of researchers, and a number of other initiatives aimed at the comprehensive study of the history of Ancient Armenia.

During the signing of the memorandum, the Director of the NAS RA Institute of History, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, and Academician Ashot Melkonyan, particularly emphasised the significance of studying the history of Ancient Armenia for the institute. The Deputy Director of the Institute of Ancient History and Ancient Near Eastern Studies at the University of Innsbruck, Dr Walter Kuntner, expressed his deep gratitude to Professor Melkonyan for the warm welcome, and noted that the signing of the memorandum is of great importance for the Austrian institution.
