Scientific conference dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the liberation of the city of Shushi held on May 23 in the ArSU.

Representatives of different scientific-educational institutions of Armenia and Arcakh participated in the conference. Before the start of the conference the participants honored the memory of those students who died during the war. An exhibition dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Shushi liberation was held in the hall of the ArSU.

The rector of ArSU Manush Minasyan gave an opening speech, and the Head of the Parliament of Arcakh Ashot Gulyan welcomed all participants. Dr. Vagram Balayan, professor, Deputy Head of the Parliament of Arcakh delivered a scientific report which highlighted the historic and cultural importance of Shushi in the system of the Armenian national values.

From the Institute of History of NAN RA three representatives took part with scientific reports in the activities dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the liberation of the city of Shushi: DSs, Professor Hrant Abrahamyan (about the autonomy of Shushi), Professor Gevorg Stepanyan (about pedagogical and social activity of  Simeon Ter-Minasyan), CSs Marine Harutyunyan (about cultural activity of benevolent organizations of Shushi in the second half of  XIX century).
