International Conference on “The Autochthonous Peoples of the Caucasus-Caspian Region in the Light of the Scientific Realities and Falsifications”

On December 6-7, 2019 with the joint efforts of the Chair of Iranian Studies at the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Yerevan State University and the Institute of Oriental Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of RA the first international conference on “The Autochthonous Peoples of the Caucasus-Caspian Region in the Light of the Scientific Realities and Falsifications” took place in the Hall of the of Best Western Congress Hotel in Yerevan.  

VISIT TO DEFENSE ARMY OF KARABAKH

On October 25-27, 2019 the Public Council under the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia under the leadership of Gegham Harutyunyan, the coordinator and adviser to the Minister of Defense together with the members of the Council organized a visit to the military units of the Artsakh’s Defense Army. The group of lecturer consisted of 27 people. The Institute of History, NAS of RA was presented by Prof. Ashot Melkonyan, the Director of the institute, Prof. Hamlet Harutyunyan, Prof. Vahan Melikyan, Dr. Armen Marukyan, Dr. Gayane Makhmuryan, Dr. Gevorg Stepanyan, and Dr.  Ruben Stepanyan, researchers Anahit Khosroeva, Ph.D, Gurgen Vardanyan, Ph.D, Vahe Sargsyan,Ph.D, Mariam Hovsepyan, Ph.D.

Hovhannes Tumanyan -150

On October 21, 2019 a conference on “Hovhannes Tumanyan-150" was launched at the Conference Hall of the RA National Academy of Sciences. Seven presentations were presented at the plenary session.  Prof.  Ashot Melkonyan – the director of the Institute of History, NAS of RA delivered a presentation on "Hovhannes Tumanyan and the Armenian History".

International Conference on the "Past, Present and Future of the Armenian Statehood"

On September 13-15, 2019 in Stepanakert on the initiative of Artsakh Young Scientists and Professionals' Union NGO the 4th International Youth Conference on the "Past, Present and Future of the Armenian Statehood" was organized. It was dedicated to the problems, achievements, priorities of long-term development of the Armenian state, particularly on the last century. The conference was co-organized by Yerevan State University and Mesrop Mashtots University of Artsakh.

International Conference on “Historical and Cultural Heritage of Shirak: Modern Issues in Armenian Studies”

On September 27-29, 2019 the 10th International Conference on “Historical and Cultural Heritage of Shirak: Modern Issues in Armenian Studies” took place at Sport and Cultural Center in Gyumri hosted by the Shirak Center for Armenian Studies, NAS RA. About 150 presentations were presented at the conference which was on the topics of history, archeology, ethnology, philology, philology of Armenia.

International Conference

On September 20 to 22, 2019, the international scientific conference “National Classics in the World Artistic Context” dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Komitas and Hovhannes Tumanyan took place in the Temple Complex of the Russian and New Nakhichevan Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church.

Book Presentation

Presentation of the book “Tachat Hovakimyan - The Hero of Sardarapat” by author Seda Galstyan's took place in the State Museum of History of Armenia. The book was presented to audience by Prof. Ashot Melkonyan -the director of the Institute of History, NAS of RA who is the author of the foreword of the book.

“The Values in Action: Armenia's Interests in a Changing World»

Matenadaran hosted a discussion on "Traditional and Image Adaptation: History and Armenian Identity” with participation of Armenian diplomats from different countries of the world. The session was chaired by Dr. Ruben Karapetyan - the former researcher of the Institute of History of NAS RA, current Adviser to the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

      

Anahit Khosroeva’s Speech at the Parliament of New South Wales

August 7 is Assyrian Memorial day, a day when the Assyrian community worldwide remembers its martyrs. Every year on this day the Assyrians around the world pay tribute to the memory of the 750,000 Assyrians who along with Armenian and Greeks brothers were subjected to genocide by the Ottomans during the First World War.

INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE

On September 2-6, 2019, Prof. Karen Khachatryan from the Institute of History, NAS of RA was invited by Dr. Andrei Timotin – the Director of the Romanian National Committee of South-East European Studies to participate on 12th INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS OF SOUTH-EAST EUROPEAN STUDIES in BUCHAREST, Romania.
