International conference dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the establishment of Mekhitarist Congregation in Venetian island of St Lazarus.

On October 24-25, 2017, by the initiative of the Department of Armenian and Social Studies of NAS RA an International conference dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the establishment of Mekhitarist Congregation in Venetian island of St Lazarus will be organized.

The scientific reports to be presented to the conference will be divided into the following thematic groups: 

The delegation of the Institute of History participated in the regular international summer school of young scholars-historians of the CIS countries in Saint-Petersburg

On June 4-10, 2017, the regular international summer school of young scholars of the CIS countries entitled "Revolution of 1917. New Visions and New Approaches", sponsored by the Institute of World History of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the State University of Saint-Petersburg, the Russian Scientific Fund, and the Humanitarian Fund for Intercultural Cooperation of CIS countries was held in Saint-Petersburg.

Research officers of the Institute of History of NAS RA participated in "The Armenians of Iraq" conference organized by the Armenian Diaspora Research Centre of Haigazian University in Beirut

 On May 29-31, 2017, the Haigazian University of Beirut hosted "The Armenians of Iraq" three-day scientific conference organized by the Armenian Diaspora Research Centre. It was the fourth conference dedicated to the Armenian Communities in the Middle East (the previous ones were on Lebanon, Syria and Jordan).

On July 7-9, 2017, the Council of the Young Scholars of the Institute of History of NAS RA is organizing the 38th annual scientific session.

Young Scholars Council Meeting

The members of the Young Scholars Council of the Institute of History of NAS RA gathered on May 23, 2017, to discuss the upcoming 38th annual scientific session of young scholars. Hamo Sahakyan, the Leader of the Council, presented the main issues of the session which will be held in the Institute of History.

The Armenian Communities of Mexico and Brazil

An interesting and exciting meeting was held in the conference hall of the Institute of History of NAS.

Science Officer of the Social Anthropology Research Centre of Mexico city, anthropologist Carlos Antaramyan and Doctor of Sciences of the Federal University of San-Paolo Eitor Laweira gave an interesting lecture to the scientific audience.

Institute of History presents a book on the life and activity of the national liberation struggle hero

More closed pages on the Armenian liberation struggle are revealed bringing to light the historical truth.

The presentation of a new book titled ‘’Hamazasp Srvandzyanc’’ was held on February 17, 2017 in the Institute of History conference hall. The author of the book is Gevorg Stepanyan, Doctor of historical sciences, Professor, Director of the Department of History of the Armenian Communities and Diaspora.

THE PRESENTATION OF ARMAVENI MIROGHLU MUHTARIAN’S BOOK “ISTANBUL ARMENIANS FROM CONSTANTINOPLE (1923-1939)”

In September 2016 Armaveni Miroghlu, Candidate of Historical Sciences, previous Master student and applicant of the Institute of history, had presented her book "Armenians from Constantinople (1923-1939)" at the Institute’s conference hall. In November 3 the presentation of the book was also held in Esayan School of Constantinople with the participation of many Armenian intellectuals, spiritual and religious leaders of the city.

THE CONTRIBUTION OF FOREIGN ARMENOLOGISTS IN THE STUDY OF ANCIENT AND MEDIEVAL HISTORY OF ARMENIA

On October 28 the Institute of History of NAS RA the International Conference "The contribution of foreign Armenologists in the study of ancient and medieval history of Armenia" took place. The conference was devoted to the role of foreign Armenologists in the study of various problems of ancient and medieval history of the Armenians, historical geography of Armenia, Armenian culture and civilization values, was also represented the significance of their works in modern Armenology.
